Bottom Plate Plumbing Pipe Notch

 
 

When laying out your bottom plates, you can notch around plumbing pipes or cut the plates. In the picture above, the pipe with a circle around it could have been easily notched, but it wasn't.

If you can notch around the plumbing pipe, you should do so as long as you have at least three quarters of an inch, left on the framing plate notch.

The arrow is pointing to a framing plate notch where the pipe is smaller and can easily be notched around.
